In February, the Lureo team continued the roadshow of events that explore the intersection of creativity and technology. Our next stop? RENDR in Belfast.
If you haven’t attended, RENDR is a masterclass in atmosphere. From the sleek set up to the high-caliber lineup of speakers, including film directors and lead creatives from world-class gaming studios, the event is a visual feast. But further to this, our Product Lead Ronan found something even more valuable: a glimpse into the future of cross-disciplinary collaboration.
From the Stage: AI and the Creative Edge
It was a privilege to bring Lureo’s perspective to the RENDR stage. Ronan joined a panel discussion on “A.I. for Creativity & Efficiency,” alongside Robyn Winfield-Smith, Greg Maguire, and Edward Tracy, moderated by Muki Kulhan.
The conversation explored how AI and immersive tools are changing the way we create for real-world settings. The energy on stage and the conversations afterward with artists and innovators highlighted a clear demand for tools that bridge the gap between technical efficiency and raw creativity.

The End of Creative Silos
The unspoken theme of RENDR this year was the dismantling of silos. We saw a room full of niche experts, including visual scripters, 2D animators, and technical artists, all using vastly different toolsets to achieve the same goal: extraordinary creative output.
While each creative workflow couldn't be more different, the crossover potential is massive. For Lureo, this is where the magic happens. Whether it’s bringing the stylized grit of 2D animation into an immersive space or applying a focus on "commercial viability" to immersive brand experiences, the lines between traditional media and spatial storytelling are blurring.
From Theory to Practice: The Ormeau Labs Workshop
The next morning, we moved from the stage to the workshop, hosting a hands-on session at Ormeau Labs. Participants used Lureo to build their own location-based immersive stories in real time.
This was a major highlight. We found that as soon as people can see their scene come to life instantly on their own devices, the cogs start turning. It breaks the ice, gets people out of their seats, and turns a technical concept into a tangible reality.
"We need to lean into the core skill sets of asset and animation creation and make it clear: this is another canvas for your creations. It’s about breaking down the mental barrier of complexity." — Ronan O'Boyle, Lureo Product Lead
Lureo is here to ensure that whether you're a 2D animator or a 3D technical director, your work has a home in the real world.
Belfast, we’ll be back.
